Cocktail Parties / Socials

"Fine food, drink, and conversation"

When thinking of Socials, one usually conjures up images of Rockefellers, Hollywood elitists, and other non-monetarily challenged folks swilling Martini's, and downing expensive mouthfuls of imported caviar. Sure this is true, but it's not for everyone's budget, or even taste!

A Social type of party can be anything you want it to be! In most cases a selection of hors d'oeuvres is the main attraction. An assortment of about 8 or 9 hors d'oeuvres, and 2 or 3 kinds of desserts is usually adequate for about 50 people. Normally a bar is set up, either with a bartender mixing drinks on request, or self-service, depending mostly on the formality of the event, and, or, budget restraints. They can mark any event such as birthdays, anniversaries, military retirement/command change, baby showers and even weddings. They can take place indoors, outdoors, or both, and they generally last about 4 hours.

This is one of my favorite events to cater as I can come to your house to consult with you personally, and custom design an event based on your own personal tastes! Parties of this kind are a great way to showcase some of those nice crystal serving trays, and other dish's, bowls, etc. you don't ordinarily find a use for. Use your home to your advantage, show off a little! Sit back, relax, socialize with your friends, and let us take care of all of the work!

What do you get and how much?

Prices differ dramatically, as you could probably imagine, for this and most other catering service's. This is based primarily on the type of food ordered, the level of service required, and extra peripherals you may need. I've included examples of parties I've done to help make it easier to see pricing structures.

Here's a general guideline:
  • Basic preparation of food, delivery, and set up at customers location. $12-$18 per person (primarily dependent on type of food ordered, and length of party).
  • Servicing of party, and clean up. $25/hour. for the first person, $20/hour. for 2nd person and $15/hour for each additional person. One person can generally handle up to 30 guests, two for30-60 guests, etc.
  • Bartender-$25/ hour (for full mixed drink bar) $15/hour for beer/wine/soft drink service.
Here's some examples of other expenses that can be incurred depending upon your individual needs, budgetary requirements, etc.
  • Rentals such as real plates, beverage fountains, glassware, etc.
  • Outdoor tents, dance floors, tables, chairs, linens, etc.
  • Flowers and other decorations
  • DJ or other entertainment

Please refer to my menu for an extensive list of hors d'oeuvres that you can select for your party. If you'd like, send me a possible party scenario that you'd envision, and I will send you back a quote within 48 hrs.

Include:
  • Number of guests
  • Your selection of Hors d'oeuvres and desserts from my list.
  • Length of party
  • Any extras you can think of.
